LEARN HOW: building a mash tun.
I dont want to pay $150 for a home made mash tun from the store. here is some research I did to learn how to make a mash tun from a cooler. later ill post step by step photos of my building process.
this video has good easy to see instructions, and it has a list of materials at the beginning that is hard to read. ive take the time to transcribe it below:
cooler 48 quarts or bigger- for gallon batches at least 48
16 gauge wire
two 1/2" conduit locknuts
two hose clamps- stainless steel or corosion free
3/4"washing machine hose (48")
31/2"barb to 1/2" mpt adapter
1/2" brass pipe tee
teflon tape
1/2" ball valve
this video is informative about the parts needed for attaching a ball valve. the first part the of the video shows assembly of a copper manifold.
this a cool video that gives using cpvc as a manifold option. you need a simple tool to cut the pipes to what ever length you want. also cpvc can be taken apart and cleaned easily.
I lke the Dead Kennedys because im too drunk to fuck
this vid shows a 3 tier set up with a fly sparge and a cpvc manifold.
